Overview

Dr. Danta has completed his PhD from Panjab University, India and worked on design, synthesis and evaluation of potential piperazine derivatives as cognition enhancers. He awarded Royal Society-SERB Newton International Fellowship from The Royal Society, London, and joined at Institute of Cancer Therapeutics, University of Bradford, U.K. and worked on synthesis of hypoxia activated fluorescent probes, aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) inhibitors and DNA-intercalating alkylating agents for the detection and treatment of cancer. He then joined Hull York Medical School, University of Hull, U.K. and worked on synthesis of potential H2S releasing compounds and investigated for the treatment of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) through oxidative stress and cellular calcium signaling. He has also industrial experience working on robust organic synthesis and prediction of retrosynthetic routes for natural products at Concept Life Science, Discovery Park, U.K. Dr. Danta has worked as associate research scientist at Department of Chemistry and Pharmacology, Yale School of Medicine, Yale University where he worked on extracellular targeted protein degradation (TPD) and on the enzymology of mitogen activated kinase phosphatese-3 (MKP-3). In 2024, he joined the Florida International University, Center for Translational Science and currently working on organic synthesis and screening of bioactive small molecules for various diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, fibrosis etc.
