Overview

Dr. Fu is currently Research Associate Professor. His research focuses on the pathophysiology of acute lung injury (ALI) and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), which mortality remains unacceptably high. Specifically, he is conducting translational research to delineate the molecular mechanisms of pulmonary vascular permeability, which is a hallmark of ALI and ARDS. His work revealed multiple cellular aspects, such as mitochondrial reactive oxygen species, nuclear lipid signaling, focal adhesion remodeling, contribute to inflammatory responses of the lung in settings of pulmonary disorders.

Research Interests

Acute lung injury; Pulmonary vascular permeability; Lung infection; Inflammation and mitochondrial metabolism
